BAPA, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), Center for Human Rights Movements (CHRM), Save the Sunderbans (SS), Bagerhat Development Commission (BDC), Krishi Jomi Raksha Committee (KJRC) and Green Voice (GV) organized a fact revealing Seminar on “Environmental Impacts of Coal based Power Plant of Rampal on the Sundarbans and Surrounding Areas” at 11-30 a.m. at Purbanchal Dialogue Center, Khulna, Bangladesh. The program was presided over by Adv. Md. Azizul Haq, Chief Coordinator, CHRM while Prof. Abdullah Harun Chowdhury, Department of Environmental Science Discipline of Khulna University presented the keynote speech publishing the facts achieved recently through a research work of his department on the impacts of proposed Rampal Thermal Power Plant on the environment of the Sunderbans area.
